I'm Leilani, I live in northern California. Though I wasn't raised in an overly-religious home, my parents always taught me to love God and put myself in His hands in everything that I did. As a teenager I experienced typical existential moments in which I seriously questioned the existence of God. That questioning led me to a mix of confusion and curiosity, both of which eventually led me to my quest for my own spirituality. At age 16 I started to learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and at age 17 I took it upon myself to truly study and ponder the teachings of the Church to find out if they were the true teachings that I wanted to live my life upon. After meeting with missionaries and gaining my own testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel as restored by the prophet Joseph Smith, I decided to be baptized. The ordinance was performed on May 19, 2012 and my life has become increasingly rich of meaning and joy ever since then. Aside from Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, the things I love most in life are my family, my exemplary friend Jorge (future Elder Olmos!), photography and many other forms of art, music, nice people, and all things in life that bring happiness. I am currently 18 years old and from this point on I plan on pursuing a career in photography while always studying and living the Gospel of Christ and continually seeking the greater good that life has to offer with absolute Faith and and incurable Hope.

Soy Leilani, vivo en el norte de California. A pesar de que no fui criada en un hogar demasiado religioso, mis padres siempre me enseñaron a amar a Dios y a ponerme en Sus manos en todo lo que hiciera. En mi adolescencia viví momentos existenciales típicos en los que yo seriamente dudaba la existencia de Dios. Ese cuestionamiento me llevó a una mezcla de confusión y curiosidad, los cuales eventualmente me llevaron a la búsqueda de mi propia espiritualidad. A los 16 años empecé a aprender acerca de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días y los 17 años me encargué de estudiar y reflexionar sobre las enseñanzas de la Iglesia para saber si eran verdaderas y si sería capáz de vivirlas. Después de reunirme con los misioneros y de haber obtenido un testimonio propio de Jesucristo y de Su Evangelio tal como fue restaurado por el profeta José Smith, decidí bautizarme. La ordenanza se llevó a cabo el 19 de mayo de 2012 y mi vida se ha vuelto cada vez más llena de significado y alegría desde entonces. Aparte de Jesucristo y el Padre Celestial, las cosas que más amo en la vida son mi familia, mi ejemplar amigo Jorge (futuro Élder Olmos!), la fotografía y muchas otras formas de arte, la música, gente amable, y todas las cosas lindas de la vida que traen felicidad . Actualmente tengo 18 años de edad y desde este punto en adelante, tengo pensado seguir una carrera en la fotografía, mientras siempre estudiando y viviendo el Evangelio de Cristo y continuamente buscando lo mejor que la vida me puede ofrecer, con Fe absoluta y una Esperanza incurable.
